    As a Bank Assistant, you'll provide a positive and friendly face for M&S Bank customers and help bring the M&S values to banking. Whether you're greeting customers or listening to their needs, providing solutions or discussing our outstanding products, you'll make things simple and aim to delight every customer, every time. Your team will have customer service and compliance targets to achieve and you'll have to get to grips with a lot of products and services. But ultimately, it'll be your ability to provide a special, uniquely M&S experience that will be the key to your success.

    Experience of dealing with customers, ideally gained in a retail bank setting or a retail role, is vital, as is an understanding of the services we provide. However, your personality, positive outlook and commitment to quality will be every bit as important. And perhaps above all, you must be a natural when it comes to talking to and building relationships with different kinds of people. A big part of the role involves approaching existing M&S customers in the store, therefore, you will need to be confident at initiating conversations and display resilience and determination.

  • Senior Bank Assistant

    You'll aim to delight every customer, every time, whether you're greeting them or listening to their needs, providing solutions or discussing our outstanding products. As a senior figure within the branch, you'll also coach and support other team members, handle the more complex customer queries and, when required, fill in as Duty Manager. Your team will have customer service and compliance targets to achieve and you'll have to get to grips with our products and services. But ultimately, it'll be your ability to provide a special, uniquely M&S experience that will be the key to your success.

    Retail banking experience and a strong track record of customer service are vital for this role, as is a commitment to helping enhance life every day by bringing the M&S values to banking. An understanding of the services and products we provide is important, as is some experience of coaching and motivating others. Your personality, positive outlook and commitment to quality will prove to be every bit as important though. And you must be a natural when it comes to talking to and building relationships with different kinds of people.

  • Deputy Bank Manager

    Working closely with the Bank Manager, you'll play an important role in leading and developing the team, ensuring your branch operates effectively.

    You'll develop the team and lead by example – giving them the motivation, training and expertise to bring our values to life, treat our customers fairly and deliver outstanding service. We'll also look to you to support the Bureau de Change team in delivering the level of service and compliance expected; through meeting our customers’ needs at every opportunity. But your biggest responsibility will be to create an in-branch experience that feels truly different and uniquely M&S.

Knowledge of our products and services, and the regulations involved, is also vital, as is the drive and tenacity to make changes when they're needed.     You'll build a team with the motivation, expertise and commitment to bring our values to life – giving them everything they need to treat our customers fairly, make finance simple and deliver outstanding service. This will mean leading by example, managing performance and being aware of training needs in order to get the very best out of everyone around you. We'll look to you to deliver the best possible customer experience, ensuring your team build relationships with customers and identify solutions that satisfy their needs. At the same time you will be expected to build a strong relationship with the retail manager and the wider store team. But your biggest challenge will be to create and maintain an in–branch experience that feels truly different and uniquely M&S.
