Ready, steady, prep...!

As much as we all love jetting off on holiday, holiday preparations can be a bit stressful. So, we've asked around the office for some top tips, to help you avoid the pitfalls and get your holiday off to a great start.

"Pack light – especially on the shoes front. Take a casual pair of flip flops or sandals and a more sparkly pair that will finish off any outfit and order your travel money plenty of time in advance - from M&S Bank of course! I love that I can use our buy back service if I have any travel money left over at the end."
Mandy, IT

"If you want to do your little bit for the environment, go with Mandy’s advice and pack light! If every passenger on every flight packed one kilo less, over the course of a year it would save 70,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions – that’s the same as 40 return flights from Manchester to Tokyo."
Alvaro, Planning & Strategy

"Put your jewellery in a sunglasses case, it will protect everything! Feed your necklaces into a straw to stop them getting tangled and use a large pill box for smaller jewellery, like earrings or rings, too."
Fiona, Social Media

"My top tip, if you don’t live too far from the airport, is to see if they offer a twilight check-in service. You take your luggage and check it in the evening before you’re flying and then in the morning you can go straight through security, by-passing the bag drop queues. Just make sure you check in online, in advance."
Joanna, Customer Solutions

"Make sure you get your travel insurance^ sorted well in advance of your holiday and check what it covers. Our policies include cover for travel disruption and travel companies collapsing, which is very reassuring given all the disruption at the moment."
Claire, Marketing

"Book the airport lounges to get away from the hustle and bustle while you wait for your flight. You’re guaranteed a seat and the price includes food and drink too!"
Ellis, Customer Services

"It may not be a priority for everyone - and it always makes my team giggle - but I never set off on holiday without my portable washing line and pegs. I'd be panicking about where to dry all our wet swimming costumes if I didn't…!"
Wendy, Planning
