Samsung Pay is a simple and secure way to make mobile payments with select Samsung devices using your eligible M&S Credit or Debit Cards. It works wherever contactless is accepted.
Samsung Pay is available on Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, S7 and S7 edge, S6, S6 edge and S6 edge+**, A3 and A5 2017.
The last card you viewed in Samsung Pay will automatically appear as your default card the next time you open the app. However, you can go to settings to select a default card. Finally, you can always swipe between all the cards you have added and select a different card before making a purchase.
Samsung Pay uses tokenisation and Samsung KNOX to secure your payment information. Additionally, your fingerprint or a 4-digit Samsung Pay PIN is required to authorise in-store purchases, or iris scanning on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+.
You can set a card up as a 'transport card' to use on TfL services. You don't even need to wake your phone or verify with a fingerprint or PIN – simply touch the middle section of your phone (where the antenna is located) against the card reader. You can use this service for pay as you go on London buses, the Tube, London Trams, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail, Emirates Air Line, River Bus and most National Rail services in London. For more information on using Samsung Pay on Transport for London services, please visit the TfL website
Samsung will ask you to enter a one-time passcode to confirm your identity. This code is a series of numbers and will be sent via email or text. If prompted, please select how you wish to receive this code and then enter it into the appropriate field.
Samsung Pay can be used wherever you see the contactless payment symbol. In addition, you can use Samsung Pay to pay as you go on London Buses, the Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail, Emirates Air Line, River Bus and most National Rail services in London.
Samsung Pay is free to use, but charges from your mobile network provider may apply depending on your data plan.
You can add up to 10 credit or debit cards to Samsung Pay. An M&S Credit or Debit Card can be added on up to nine devices.
An active internet connection is not required to make in-store purchases, but your phone should connect to the internet at least once per day to ensure that Samsung Pay stays up to date and remains active. You can perform several authentications/transactions during a period without internet access, after which your phone will need an internet connection before additional authentications will process. Samsung Pay does require an active internet connection to activate the app or add a new card.
Start by either swiping up from the home button or opening the Samsung Pay app from your home screen.
Select the card you want to pay with.
You can authenticate by fingerprint, iris scanner (available on Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ phones), or PIN.
Touch or hover your phone about 2-4 cm over the contactless terminal where you'd usually tap your physical card to complete the transaction.
All purchases made through Samsung Pay can be returned according to the store's policies. If you return an item paid for through Samsung Pay, the store may require you to hover your phone over the contactless terminal to complete the return.
If your device is lost or stolen, call us on 0345 900 0900 to remove your card. You can use Samsung's Find My Mobile service to disable your cards remotely.
If you lose your card, please contact us immediately on 0345 900 0900. All transactions on your card will be stopped, including Samsung Pay transactions, until you have received, activated and added your replacement card to Samsung Pay.
