M&S Bank Mortgages

We stopped offering M&S Bank Mortgages to new customers in March 2020 as we focussed our efforts on supporting our existing customers financially impacted by Covid-19. We have taken the decision not to reintroduce a mortgage offering, which means we'll soon stop offering a mortgage service to existing mortgage customers. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause.

As a result, existing M&S Bank Mortgage accounts will automatically transfer over to HSBC UK, one of the UK's largest mortgage providers, from 1 June 2021. M&S Bank is a wholly-owned subsidiary of HSBC, which operates in partnership with M&S, and mortgages will be automatically transferred, with no disruption to the service customers receive.

What this means for you...

Existing M&S Bank Mortgage holder

Your M&S Bank Mortgage will automatically transfer over to HSBC UK from 1 June 2021, you do not need to take any action. HSBC will be in touch in June to confirm your new mortgage account details. Your Direct Debit date will remain the same.

There will be no change to your mortgage conditions as a result of this transfer, however interest will now be calculated on a daily basis, instead of monthly. This means that when you make a payment to your HSBC mortgage, you'll benefit from being charged interest on the reduced balance from the next day, as opposed to the next month.

For information related to payment and servicing information, please call us on 0345 002 1127.

Lines are open 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am- 1pm on Saturday (excluding bank holidays)
