The Benefits

We want to make sure that working for M&S Bank is as rewarding as possible. After all, when you're going the extra mile to ensure that our customers are happy, it's only fair that we give you our best too.

  • Salary and benefits

Our positive and supportive working environment is one of the biggest benefits, but it's not the only one. Other rewards on offer include:

    • Individually tailored benefits to suit your lifestyle selected by you, including: Dental Plan, car breakdown cover, Cycle to Work and many more
    • Private healthcare
    • Annual bonus scheme
    • 20% Marks and Spencer discount, with no limit on annual spend
    • A non-contributory defined contribution pension scheme
    • Five weeks' holiday with the option to buy an extra week
    • Sharesave scheme
    • Childcare scheme
    • Discounts on M&S Bank and HSBC products
  • Work/Life balance

As well as our approach and values, the hours at M&S Bank are going to be different too.

Our branches will be open for the same hours as Marks & Spencer stores. For our customers, this means greater convenience. For you, it means we can offer a huge range of shifts.

Weekends and evenings are shift options, as are part-time shifts from 10am to 2pm, and a late shift from 5pm to 10pm - ideal for working parents who need to fit their careers around their families.

  • Development

Our customers are going to expect the best, so our career development programme will help you achieve just that.

It will start with a tailored and comprehensive training course that will cover our products, processes and values. This will be delivered on a full-time basis (six weeks for Bank Assistants and Senior Bank Assistants, and 8 weeks for Bank Managers and Deputy Bank Managers), and will make sure you feel part of the business from day one. And it will continue with regular performance reviews, training, development and coaching throughout your career.

As M&S Bank grows, the opportunities to develop your career will grow too. Of course if you're happy where you are and enjoying the job you do, there'll be no pressure to move, it'll be entirely up to you.

If you are keen to move forward however, there will be clear paths for progression within our structure. And as well as the opportunities that will come up in M&S Bank, you'll also have access to many more across the whole of HSBC. They'll all be advertised internally, so you won't miss any of them!
