Once you’ve downloaded the app you’ll be prompted to enter your mobile number. Then we’ll send you an activation code by text message. When you receive this code, follow the step-by-step guide below to sign up for the M&S Balance App.

  1. Step 1

    Enter your 6 digit activation code

  2. Step 2

    Enter your date of birth

  3. Step 3

    Choose a passcode - it needs to be 5 to 8 digits long

  4. Step 4

    Enter your debit card details (16 digit card number, expiry date, cardholder's name and security code)

  5. Step 5

    Enter your address (postcode and house number)

  6. Step 6

    Confirm your account details

Which devices are supported?

The M&S Balance App is compatible with:

  • iPhone (3GS and later), iPad (2nd generation and later), iPod touch (4th generation and later), iPad Air and iPad mini devices.
  • Android devices running operating system version 2.2 and higher.

Would I be charged for using this service?

M&S Bank will not charge customers for using this service, however you may be charged by your network provider as this app requires connection to the internet. You will need to refer to your network provider to check their payment plans.

What accounts can I access with M&S Balance?

Any M&S Bank Current Account for which you have been issued with an activated debit card.

Can I access the same services as my Internet Banking on this app?

No, the M&S Balance app enables you to check the balance and last 6 transactions on your registered account(s) as well as top up pay as you go mobile phones. However, for your mobile banking needs our website is optimised to fit within mobile phone browsers and provides full access to Internet Banking on your phone.

Is the M&S Balance App secure?

The M&S Balance App is password protected for your security.
