What you should know before you apply

Can we insure your car?

The car you're insuring must be privately owned. And we can't insure any of these vehicles:

• Motorcycles
• Commercial vehicles
• Motor homes/motor caravans
• Vehicles with more than 8 seats
• Non-EU imports
• Cars without a valid UK registration number
• Cars with a Q registration
• Cars registered outside the UK or Northern Ireland
• Cars used for driving tuition, motor trade purposes, hire or reward, racing, rallies, track days or competitions

Cardholder discount

In order to receive the discount the M&S Cardholder will need to be a named driver on the policy. The discount will be applied automatically to the net premium only, excluding any add-on products, instalment fees and/or charges, so the price presented at the end of the quote will be inclusive of the discount. We reserve the right to withdraw or amend this offer without notice.

Before you start your quote, read our important information about Car Insurance. Please take care to answer all of the questions honestly and ensure that your answers are accurate and complete. If you don’t, it may mean that we are not able to deal with your claim or your policy may be cancelled. All prices quoted will be inclusive of insurance premium tax and any applicable M&S Cardholder discounts. The M&S Cardholder discount only applies if the main cardholder is a named driver on the policy.
