How do you want to switch?

Do you still have your old device with the app installed and working?

Step 1: Sign in to the M&S Banking App on your old device.

Step 2: Remove the device by selecting the ‘profile’ icon in the top right, select ‘Security’, ‘Manage devices’ and then tap the device you’re removing.

Step 3: Once you’ve done this, you can delete the M&S Banking App on your old device.

You’ll need to remove all of your devices registered to the M&S Banking App before you can order a physical M&S PASS. If you no longer have access to remove a device, please call us on 0345 900 0900, lines are open 8am – 8pm Monday to Sunday.

Step 4: Head to the M&S Bank website at bank.marksandspencer.com and select the ‘Sign in’ link in the top right corner.

Step 5: Once signed in, on the token selection page, select the ‘Don’t have a compatible device?’ button. This will display additional information.

Step 6: Check your address is correct, then select ‘Order M&S PASS’

Step 7: You’ll receive your PASS and instructions on how to activate it within 7 working days by post.

Step 1: Sign in to the M&S Banking App on your other device.

Step 2: Remove old devices by selecting the ‘profile’ icon in the top right, select ‘Security’ then ‘Manage devices’ and tap to remove.

Step 3: Check that your new device is listed under supported devices.

To check your operating system:

Apple device: Go to Settings > General > About

Android device: Go to Settings > About Phone/ About Device > Android Version

Step 4: It’s important we have up to date contact details for you, including a mobile number.

If you need to update us with your mobile number, please call us on 0345 600 5860 before setting up the M&S Banking App.

Step 5: Go to your app store on your new device and download the M&S Banking App.

Step 6: Open the M&S Banking App and depending on your device type, click either the ‘Continue’ or ‘Yes’ button on the first app set up screen

Step 7: Enter your Internet Banking username in the field.

Step 8: Select the ‘Continue’ button.

Step 9: Select the ‘Password and one-time activation code’ radio button to confirm it’s you.

Step 10: Select the ‘Continue’ button.

Do you remember your Internet Banking password?

Step 11: Enter your password in the field.

Step 12: Select the ‘Continue’ button.

Step 14: Enter the activation code you've received via SMS into the activation code field.

Step 15: Enter a new 6 digit Digital M&S PASS PIN.

Step 16: Re-enter your Digital M&S PASS PIN to confirm.

You should now be able to access M&S Digital Banking

You’re now set up app screen

Step 1: Head to the M&S Bank website at bank.marksandspencer.com and select the ‘Sign in’ link in the top right corner.

Step 2: Type in your username in the field.

Step 3: Select the ‘Continue’ button.

Step 4: If a pop up box appears, select the ‘Continue’ button.

Step 5: Select the ‘Forgotten your Password?’ link. This is under the 'Sign In' button.

Step 6: You’ll need to create a new password.
Follow the on screen instructions and confirm your new password.

Step 7: Once completed, select the ‘Continue’ button.

Make sure your new password isn’t longer than 30 characters and don’t enter a space at the end

Step 8: Call our automated phone service. Please have your credit card and mobile phone at hand so we can confirm your identity. Please remember to never share your password with anyone.

Step 12: We’ll send you a one-time activation code to your registered mobile number.

Step 13: Enter your one-time activation code.

Step 14: You’ll now need to create and re confirm a 6 Digit PASS PIN. This will be used for signing in to the app. However, for more secure sign in, set up facial or fingerprint recognition.

If you have the app set up on additional devices, you will have the option to remove existing devices you no longer need. You can set up the app on up to 3 devices.

Step 7: Select ‘I have my old device’. This way, you can scan a QR code to get set up.

Step 8: Choose ‘Continue’.

Step 9: Read the instructions on screen, and when you're ready select ‘Ready to scan’.

Step 10: Open up the M&S Banking App on your existing mobile device, but don’t sign in and select the ‘Generate a security code’.

Step 11: Accept camera access and scan the QR code from your existing device.

Step 12: Create a Digital PASS PIN. This is what you will use when signing into the app in future. However, for more secure sign in, set up facial or fingerprint recognition. If you have the app set up on additional devices, you will have the option to remove existing devices you no longer need. You can set up the app on up to 3 devices.

Step 13: That’s it you're all set up!

Step 7: Select ‘No, I don’t/ it’s lost’, and you’ll need to take a photo of your valid photo ID and a selfie to confirm your identity.

Step 7: Select the 'Physical M&S PASS' radio button to confirm it's you.

If you've lost your physical M&S PASS, you'll need to select the 'Password and one-time activation' code journey and follow the steps. If you've forgotten your password, select 'start again' on the top right and select 'I've forgotten my sign in details' journey.

Step 8: Select the 'Continue' button.

Step 9: Use your physical M&S PASS to generate a security code like you would to sign in to Internet Banking.

Step 10: Enter this 6 digit security code into the field on your M&S Banking App.

Step 11: Select the 'Confirm and continue' button.

Step 12: You'll then need to enter a new 6 digit PIN. This will be your Digital M&S PASS PIN.

Step 13: Re-enter your new Digital M&S PASS PIN to confirm.

You can now manage your accounts via the M&S Banking App and use it to generate a security code to log on to Internet Banking.

Step 14: Your Digital M&S PASS is now set up. Your Physical PASS will no longer work.
