How to safely close your credit card account

Thinking about closing your credit card account?

We're sorry you're thinking of closing your M&S Credit Card, below is a link to our closure form and a little information you will need ahead of the closure. Please note that once the account is closed you will not be able to apply for another M&S Credit Card for 12 months.

Balance

You can only close accounts with a nil balance. For ways to clear your balance visit our ways to pay page.

If you currently have a credit balance on your account, we will be in contact to refund this to you and we will issue a statement.

Direct Debits

All Direct Debits will be cancelled. Please ensure you have alternative payment methods in place to avoid negative effects on your credit file.

Subscriptions

We can’t close your account with any active subscriptions. Please cancel any subscriptions with the retailers and then come back to complete form.

For communications regarding the closure of your account, we will ask you for your email address so we can contact you.
