FAQs

What is Touch ID/Face ID and how does it work with the app?

Instead of using your password and memorable answer, you can use Touch ID or Face ID, enabled on your device, to log in to the app.

If I have other people’s fingerprints stored on my device will they be able to log on to the app?

Yes. If someone can use their fingerprint to unlock your device they'll also be able to access your accounts on our App. You should only enable Touch ID if you're the only person who has registered fingerprints on your device. You can add or remove fingerprints in your device settings.

How do I disable Touch ID or Face ID?

There are two ways to disable Touch ID or Face ID:

  • go to your device ‘Settings’ and follow the instructions to delete the Touch ID/Face ID supported by your mobile device
  • disable Touch ID/Face ID within the ‘Security Settings’ menu in our app

I've set up Touch ID on the M&S Banking App but it’s not working. How do I fix it?

You have either disabled Touch ID on your device due to five unsuccessful attempts across all apps, or you’ve had three unsuccessful attempts at logging in to our App. You'll need to either re-enable Touch ID on your device by entering your Apple device passcode, or you'll need to log in to the M&S Banking App to re-enable Touch ID.
