Credit card disputes explained: how to raise a claim

Please read the important information before getting in touch

What is a credit card dispute?

A dispute is where you have an issue with a transaction on your account. There are two types of transactions you may dispute, one you do recognise and one you don’t. Both types can be disputed by raising a claim with us.

Here are some common reasons why you would dispute a transaction:

  • When you haven’t received goods or services you’ve paid for
  • Where the goods or services you’ve received aren’t as described
  • Where you’ve been charged twice for the same goods or services
  • When you don’t recognise the transaction

Depending on the nature of your dispute, you’ll need to make a claim within a certain time period. This is usually 120 days from the purchase date, but this can vary.
