M&S PASS setup guide

M&S PASS for customers registered with Internet Banking

Welcome to secure Internet Banking from M&S Bank. The M&S Personal Access Security Solution, or M&S PASS, is designed to make sure that only you can access your M&S current account online. You'll need to use it every time you log into Internet Banking, but don't worry, it's quick and easy to use.

If, when you opened your M&S current account, you were already using Internet Banking, then we will have posted an M&S PASS out to you. It should take between 7-10 working days to arrive, but if it hasn't arrived within this time, just get in touch and we'll send you one straightaway.

Once you've received your M&S PASS, you'll need to activate it before you can use it, this will only takes a few minutes.

  • Step 1: Sign into your account on the M&S Bank website.
  • Step 2: Ready to upgrade, you'll get the message 'we're changing the way you sign into Internet Banking' so now click continue.
  • Step 3: Enter the serial number from the back of your M&S PASS and generate a pin and security code by following the simple on-screen instructions.

Your M&S PASS is now activated and you can sign into Internet Banking wherever you are, at any time. Just remember to have your username, M&S PASS and your security answer to hand whenever you sign in.

M&S PASS for new customers to Internet Banking

If, when you opened your M&S current account, you expressed an interest in using Internet Banking, then we will post an M&S PASS out to you. It should take between 7-10 working days to arrive. If it hasn't arrived within this time, just get in touch and we'll send you one straightaway.

Once you've received your M&S PASS, you'll need to activate it before you can use it, but it only takes a few minutes. Before you start, make sure you've set up a telephone security number and that your M&S PASS is to hand, as well as your activation number. Your activation number was printed on the letter that accompanied your M&S PASS. Just give us a call on 0345 900 0900 if you can't find your activation number or your security number.

  • Step 1: Go to the M&S Bank website and click the 'Sign in/Register' button in the top right hand corner.
  • Step 2: Choose 'Activate Now' at the bottom of the page.
  • Step 3: Confirm you have all the required information in front of you and click continue.
  • Step 4: Enter your activation number, your date of birth, and 3 digits from your security number.
  • Step 5: Specify a username and a security question that are easy for you to remember.
  • Step 6: Enter the serial number from the back of your M&S PASS and generate a pin and security code by following the simple on-screen instructions.
  • Step 7: Set up some memorable questions and answers that we can ask you if you ever forget your sign in details to verify that you are the account holder and to help you log in to your account securely.
  • Step 8: Now that your M&S PASS is activated, you’ll be asked to create a password which you will need if you choose to download the M&S Banking app.
  • Step 9: Once you've activated your M&S PASS and set up your password you can sign in to Internet Banking. Every time you sign into Internet Banking, we’ll ask you to enter your username, security answer and a security code from your M&S PASS. Just remember to have your username, M&S PASS and your security answer to hand whenever you log in.
