Google Pay

An easy way to pay with your M&S Credit Card and still get M&S rewards points when you spend

What is Google Pay?

Google Pay is a secure payment service that allows you to use your Google or Android device in place of your physical card while still collecting M&S rewards points when you spend.

You simply add your M&S Credit Card to your digital wallet and you can then make contactless payments in person, and make payments in apps and online without the need for your physical card or PIN.

How to pay

Making payments is easy, secure and best of all, you’ll still be able to collect M&S rewards points when you spend on your M&S Credit Card using Google Pay. Payments will come from your default card which can be changed at any time. Google Pay can be used wherever you see these symbols:

In store

Just wake the device and hold it against the contactless payment terminal. You may need to unlock your device for some transactions for example, when transactions exceed £100. Once you have unlocked your device, hold the back of it close to the payment reader for a few seconds. When you’re done paying, a blue check mark will appear on the screen.

To pay with Google Pay using your smartwatch, open the Google Pay app and hold your smartwatch over the contactless payment reader until you hear a sound or feel vibration from your watch.

In app

To pay in apps select 'Buy with Google Pay' when prompted by participating apps (additional verification may be required).

The default Google Pay card will be displayed on the initial purchase. You can choose a different card which will then become the main card for payments within that app; this could be different from the default card used for in store transactions.

Online

To pay while online, select 'Buy with Google Pay' when prompted by participating apps (additional verification may be required). The default Google Pay card will be displayed on the initial purchase. You can choose a different card to pay with at the point of purchase.

On Transport for London (TfL)

Just wake the device and hold it against the contactless payment terminal.

To enable the remote location access, so that you can remotely lock your device or do a factory reset, take these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Google Account on your device in order to use Find My Device to turn on the location access from your device's apps menu, open 'Google Settings' and touch 'Security'.
  2. Under Find My Device, move the switches next to 'Remotely locate this device' and 'Allow remote lock and factory reset' to the 'On' position
  3. If your phone is lost or stolen, you can find, lock, or erase it using Find My Device . Since Google Pay doesn't store your card details on your phone, anyone who finds or steals your phone won't be able to access that information, even if it's unlocked.
